Shape

Well here is my post for the week on SHAPE.

For those who didn't know...the St Louis Arch was fabricated and built in Warren, PA at PDM (Pittsburgh-Des Moines) and it was shipped by rail to St Louis in 8' tri-angular sections.

So there is a lil history lesson...

  1. Great shot Rusty!

But according to my step dad, your facts are wrong. The arch was built by PDM (where he worked for the last 19 years before they closed this June, suck), but not at the Warren location. :)

  2. Well actually it was the Warren Location...and here are my Facts....1. My dad knew one of the guys who was a foreman on the Arch..his name was Babe Caster....and 2. If you spend $1.75 and buy the book on the building of the Arch...it states in there that it was built in Warren, PA.

  3. Cool. Too bad that doesn't show up anywhere else (online). Warren gets no credit, lame.

  5. And I remember being told growing up that ONLY the top was made in Warren and other pieces were made throughout the country so it couldn't be claimed by one place. Kinda like DC.
